Introduction
Fruit of the Loom, a global apparel manufacturing and retail organisation operating in approximately 8 countries, faced challenges with duplicate systems, manual data entry, and inefficient HR processes. With the implementation of PCL Global Oracle HCM, including HR Helpdesk and Oracle Digital Assistant, Fruit of the Loom successfully streamlined their HR operations, improved compliance management, and achieved scalability to support their growing global workforce.
Challenges
Fruit of the Loom grappled with multiple systems for HR access, resulting in high IT infrastructure demands and limited employee access to HR information. Manual data entry for benefits, absence management, and compliance tracking led to time-consuming processes and increased errors. HR processes, including payroll, required substantial effort, and response times for urgent issues were prolonged. Furthermore, addressing payroll corrections due to source data errors created inefficiencies and inaccuracies.
Solutions
Fruit of the Loom implemented Oracle HCM solutions to address these challenges. They adopted the HR Helpdesk module to manage their service desk, significantly reducing response times for HR-related issues. Oracle Digital Assistant was implemented to provide prompt and automated responses to employee inquiries.
PCL Global HCM was implemented in stages across different countries, including Oracle US Payroll, Europe Phase 1 and 2, Asia Pacific, China, and Japan, which streamlined their HR processes.”
PCL’s Global HCM accelerator was specifically designed to cater to the needs of manufacturing organisations, making it an ideal fit for Fruit of the Loom. It offered industry-specific features and functionalities tailored to their unique manufacturing requirements. The accelerator’s scalability and flexibility aligned perfectly with Fruit of the Loom’s size and allowed them to adapt to their evolving business needs.
PCL’s global designs and template approaches facilitated standardisation of HR and payroll processes across various geographies, simplifying operations and ensuring compliance with local regulations. By incorporating manufacturing best practices and pre-validated designs, PCL enabled Fruit of the Loom to streamline their HR and payroll operations, improve data accuracy, and enhance overall efficiency.

Next Steps
Fruit of the Loom’s future plans include implementing Oracle Workforce Compensation to enhance bonus and incentive processes for global management. They also aim to introduce Oracle Time for hourly workers to improve time reporting for manufacturing shop floor hourly wage workers and seasonal employees. Additionally, they are considering Oracle Fusion Analytics as a replacement for their current reporting systems, Snowflakes and Tableau, to enhance key reporting metrics.
Oracle HCM has transformed our HR processes and significantly improved our efficiency. The HR Helpdesk and Digital Assistant have allowed us to provide quick responses to employee inquiries, and the implementation of PCL Global HCM has streamlined our processes and eliminated data duplicity. We have doubled our employee strength while reducing the number of payroll queries that require manual intervention, enabling our team to concentrate on strategic initiatives. We look forward to implementing Oracle Workforce Compensation and Oracle Time to further enhance our processes and reporting capabilities.
